Note:
Alcoholimeter have to be clean and fat free before use. After use cleanse thoroughly with water and dry with a lintfree cloth.

Spindle cylinders have to be cleaned and fat free as well. Cleanse thoroughly after use and hang up, mouth down for drying. The diameter of the spindle cylinder has to be signifficantly bigger than the alcoholimeter, so that the alcoholimeter can swim freely while measuring.

Hold the alcoholimeter at the top and put slowly into liquid so that it can swim freely (no contact with the wall of the spindle cylinder). Don't let the alcoholimeter swing up and down in the liquid.

Bubbles affect the precision of the measurement. If necessary take alcoholimeter out of the liquid and put back in carefully until bubbles are gone, or you can turn the alcoholimeter carefully and wipe off the bubbles.

Read the result after 1 - 2 minutes, you can either read it "up" or "down". If there is no information about how to read the alcoholimeter, so it is "down". Viewing direction is always horizontal.
